Don’t leave anything until tomorrow, which you can do today.
It’s an excellent rule for a property consultant to work to. That, and make sure all parties are treated equally and kept fully informed throughout the property sale process.
Before becoming a property consultant, I worked for The State Services Commission, managing government owned and leased commercial properties in Otago and Southland. This gave me an ideal background in negotiating and contractual procedures.
Real estate was a natural progression and I have now been selling houses, sections, residential investment homes and student flats for nearly 30 years. I also own and manage several rental properties around Dunedin myself.
When it comes to other people’s property, though, I appreciate what a privilege it is to be entrusted with its sale. At the end of the day, it’s a big deal: encouraging and assisting people in making what is normally one of the biggest monetary decisions of their lives.
