As a young woman, Katie left NZ to travel overseas on her OE to the UK and Europe. She only ventured to the USA for a 4-week holiday but stayed on to have an amazing and successful 25-year career with United Airlines managing customer service and sales teams in multiple leadership roles. Katie’s extensive experience and passion has always been customer focused and people leadership with an important emphasis on interpersonal skills. Katie’s diverse background included being a Real Estate Sales Agent in California where the pre-licensing requirements are the toughest in the USA due to the complex financial, regulatory and legal aspect of selling, buying and managing real estate in California.
Katie returned to New Zealand in 2013 to Queenstown, working for the iconic red boats Shotover Jet as their Customer Service Manager. However, the smell of aviation fluid was in Katie’s blood and she accepted the position at Air New Zealand as the Customer Service Manager at Auckland Airport, the largest and busiest airport with an equally large budget and team. Regretfully Katie was made redundant from Air New Zealand due to Covid, however she is very resilient, energetic and passionate about making a difference to the customer experience. With her Real Estate sales background as well as her Sales and Key Account Manager experience, it was a natural progression to combine her career pathways.
Katie extensive background in customer service and sales provides her with the interpersonal skills and expertise to negotiate on her customers behalf to achieve best positive results. She is passionate about consistently delivering outstanding customer service and staying connected throughout the whole transaction, from initial contact, through to settlement date and beyond with excellent after sales service.
