Murray Brown
After a 15 year background in the Surveying Industry, Murray changed focus to the Real Estate Industry in 1983. Thirty years on he’s still doing it despite the many changes the Industry has gone through over this period of time. Throughout his career Murray has managed a number of Real Estate operations and has owned and operated his own successful multi office business. He believes the Real Estate Industry offers a unique opportunity for all types of personalities to be involved and has gained much pleasure in seeing many individuals continue to develop not only in their career opportunities but also in other aspects of their lives. Murray believes self integrity, honesty and an undivided commitment and service to clients are the critical qualities required to be successful in Real Estate. Murray came to Central Otago in 1976 as a consultant surveyor to the Clutha Valley Power Development project. His involvement was in the design and construction of the residential areas in Cromwell where some 500 homes together with all the necessary infrastructure, were built to accommodate the significant work force required to complete the project. For a large number of these properties, he has not only been involved in their development but has also sold them, in some cases several times over. He has experienced the many changes that such a project has on a community and has had a full involvement in several community organisations including the REINZ local committee. Looking to the future he believes the signs are very positive for a great future for Real Estate in the Central Otago region.
