A life worth living...
Andrew has come from land and loves the feeling of having your piece of dirt around you. Having grown up on a horse farm in the Wairarapa he has learnt the values of hard work bringing rewards.
Andrew left our shores as a 21 year old and worked in Sydney, London and Beijing, where he gained great international experience in the Hospitality industry, over a 14 year period.
Upon his return to NZ in November 1998 Andrew settled in Auckland and carried on with his trade of hospitality. He has owned and operated numerous bars and gastropubs around the Auckland region, sprinkled with 4 years of corporate work with DB Breweries and Air New Zealand.
During his career in hospitality Andrew developed relationships with many designers and architects in the development of air lounges as well as numerous bars. His eye for detail was needed and has been kept to this day.
Andrew’s family life is very important. Donna, Andrew’s wife, keeps him focused. Their four children (three boys and a beautiful daughter being the youngest of the brood) ensure he is aware of what is going on in the teenager’s world. A small menagerie of pets keep his feet firmly on the floor with a Dachshund, Welsh Springer, a noisy canary and a crazy cat to keep the family entertained. Andrew enjoys the outdoors, particularly, SUP boarding for exercise and motorcycling for ‘sensory’ fun.
In answer to the question ‘Why UP?’
Having known a number of the UP team for a few years (14 To be exact), it was an easy decision to choose UP Real Estate. I have had dealings with many real estate agencies over the course of my work career, the standouts have been the team at UP, professional, informative and fun. I always had a sense of their diligence and hard work. The commitment to family life shone through as a foundation of their business. Those values aligned with what is important to me in my own life. So that’s why I’ve stepped UP!!
