Rex was born in Helensville, attending Parakai Primary school and Kaipara College. On leaving school Rex joined the Royal New Zealand Air Force, where his 20 years as an Aircraft Engineer taught him the values of trust, honesty, discipline and attention to detail. After another 10 years in the Aviation industry with Air New Zealand and DHL Rex embarked on his Real Estate career in 1999.

In 2006 Rex obtained the National Diploma in Real Estate through study at the Open Polytechnic of New Zealand. Rex is qualified as an Auctioneer to further compliment his Real Estate skills.

Rex is a keen sportsman and has been actively involved in local Rugby, Touch Rugby, Swimming and Tennis both playing and at Committee Level. Rex is a Life Member of The Helensville Rugby Club and is now repaying local sports clubs through sponsorship and business support.
