Moving to Huntly?

Huntly is located between Auckland and Hamilton and is known as the coal town as it's set on a large coal-fired power station. Once a major source of coal, Huntly was known for producing around 10,000 tonnes of coal a day.

Huntly has several great walking trails, including Lake Hakanoa, which is an easy forty-five-minute loop walk surrounded by picturesque lake views. Huntly is also home to the Glen Afton Line – a volunteer-run heritage railway allowing the public to ride steam or diesel trains. With the Mercer Art and History Museum showcasing the history of the Waikato River and the river trade, Huntly is an interesting rural town with endless opportunities.
