I have been fortunate to have been selling real estate at the top end of the Auckland market since 1991 for Harcourts and Main realty then Unlimited Potential Remuera since 1995 and now Bayleys central Auckland .

Richard boasts over 30 years of real estate experience after entering the industry in 1991. His longevity in the industry means he was one of the early agents to try a new sales concept in the New Zealand market at the time called ‘auctions’! In his many decades in real estate there is not much Richard hasn’t seen, working successfully in a variety of market conditions and consistently obtaining great results for his clients. With sales totals of around a billion dollars, Richard’s achievements and track record speak for themselves.

Richard recognises that each client and home is unique so adaptability has become his number one skill combined with high levels of empathy. As he is also a competitive sportsperson, his personal mantra is ‘be prepared in every way for any eventuality by anticipating an outcome and training for it’. This of course applies equally to his approach to real estate. As the ultimate testament to his skills Richards is proud that most of his business is the result of referral from highly satisfied clients.

Outside of work Richard is heavily involved in multi-disciplinary sport to a high level, pushing the boundaries on how far he can push his body, particularly in endurance. He has completed six running marathons, several swimming marathons and one Coast to Coast ultra event. He has taken part in several multi day (two week) triathlon challenges down the east coast of the North Island for I am Hope charity and swam from Great Barrier Island to the CBD to raise funds for the Hato Hone St John trust.

Born and raised in Remuera and Parnell, Richard currently lives in Remuera with his wife Wendy, who used to own the business Flowers After Hours. Their Bassett Road home, a 1960s Jasmax-designed property, was both designed and previously owned by John Austin. They also own a citrus orchard in Matakana that they run remotely and which helps keep them ‘grounded’.

For those seeking a local agent brimming with experience, empathy and excellence Richard welcomes your call.
