Matarangi Beach Realty (formerly L J Hooker Matarangi) has been operating as the local specialist real estate team since 2004.

Our team is dedicated to giving the best service to our clients and customers whilst making sure any transaction is a satisfying real estate experience. We have stylized the business to address the unique needs of real estate at the beach. As we cater to overseas buyers and expatriates, we have an international website that is easy to use and helps buyers identify suitable properties easily.

The team at Matarangi Beach Realty believes that the small touches are important and pride themselves on getting the best prices for clients and sourcing top properties for customers.

Situated on the eastern coast of the beautiful Coromandel Peninsula, Matarangi is often referred to as the "jewel in the crown" with 4.5 km (2.75 miles) of gently sloping white sand, north facing to the Pacific Ocean and is an excellent playground for all the family. The sand is pristine, the sparkling water clear and the beach sheltered by Great Barrier, Cuvier and the Mercury Islands. Sea life abounds whether you fish, dive, or just want to relax watching birdlife, dolphins or the occasional pod of orcas.

Matarangi township prides itself on its safe family environment right on one of the world's best beaches. It boasts numerous connected walkways and cycling tracks, nine all weather tennis courts, an 18 hole championship golf course, restaurant and bar, cafe, hardware/hire shop and superette. There is an excellent boat ramp and wharf allowing easy access to the harbour and the ocean. The safe beach is great for everyone, swimming, body surfing, windsurfing, surfcasting — in fact all the aquatic sports you can think of.

There are currently just over 1200 or so properties in this idyllic location all within a stroll of the beach.

Access is offered from Matarangi's own ramp on the Whangapoua Harbour, Kuaotunu ramp just over the hill or the eastern end of the beach for smaller craft. There is an all tide ski lane in the harbour. The offshore islands feature safe anchorage for the overnight trips and wonderful bays and sandy beaches for day trips and picnics. Be sure to check availability of access before you land on some of the islands.

By boat enjoy game fishing for Marlin, Tuna, Sailfish and Mahimahi over the summer months and Hapuka and Bluenose later in the year all remarkably close at hand. Kingfish, Snapper, Gurnard, Terakihi, Trevally and Kahawai are even closer with these fish also available to rockhoppers and surfcasters.
