Dave’s passion for the farming sector and the local area in particular comes from a home grown link to the land in the region and over 25 years as a Senior Rural Banker and Leader in farming areas throughout New Zealand.

Having been brought up on a local sheep and beef farm and worked on a number of other farms in the area, this local tie to the land and its people has seen him return to the region to add his expertise and enthusiasm to the NZR team.

Developing long lasting and trusted relationships is a real focus and this can only be achieved through treating every property and client with respect, honesty and an absolute desire to achieve the best outcome for each property transaction. Dave believes that professionalism, attention to detail and a proactive approach to communicating with all parties involved is the key to a successful sales process.

Bringing a strong industry knowledge base, well developed negotiating skills and a real understanding of rural marketing strategies means that Dave is well placed to add real value to his clients and their farms. Good information along with reliable, professional and unbiased advice means that farmers and farming businesses can make the best decisions about their properties and I am driven to make sure that is what they receive.

Dave has managed rural clients from the Waikato to Wairarapa (across diverse farming businesses) in previous banking roles as well as Rural Corporate Banking experience here and overseas, and lead the North Island Agribusiness team for a major NZ bank.

He has a B.Com.(Ag) in Valuation and Farm Management, has judged Nationally in the New Zealand Dairy Industry Awards, is a member of the NZ Institute of Primary Industry Management and holds a National Certificate in Real Estate.

Dave has been awarded the REINZ New Zealand Rural Rising Star of the Year 2019/2020.

Other accolades include being the Winner of the Multimedia Marketing Award - REINZ Awards for Excellence 2022, and a Finalist for the Small Rural Office - REINZ Awards for Excellence 2019 (Top 3 in NZ).

In the last 6 years Dave, in partnership with Blair Stevens, has sold more than $300 million of rural real estate.
