Jess comes from an administration and management background - primarily in the sporting sector with prior roles within Central Football and Sport Manawatu - and is a naturally empathetic, caring person who loves to help others. So much so that she is well known for her volunteering, social media influencing and selfless support within parent groups, sports clubs and an extensive network of family and friends. ‘Palmerston North Parents’ is a very successful Facebook page - with over 11,000 members - run by Jess with a focus on connecting a community and promoting local events and opportunities for all families in the Manawatu. Another passion is ‘Reboot Manawatu’, which is an initiative started and coordinated by Jess with the focus on keeping existing football boots in circulation through donations and gifting of gear. Over 500 boots have been re-homed to football players of all ages within the region.

Ian and Jess are locally born, bred and educated, and are proud to live and raise two young children - Zoe, 10 and Finn, 8 – in Palmerston North. They love what Palmerston North has to offer, and can see why it’s an attractive, centrally located City to live in.
