Haydon, originally from Canada via the United Kingdom, settled in New Zealand in 1982. During his first ten years in Auckland, Haydon was involved in major property developments with a number of well-known Auckland companies, wih extensive in the 'top end' luxury residential sector throughout the greater Auckland region.

This experience involved a diversity of properties and developments, ranging in size from 4.5 acres throughout 500 acre subdivisions and coastal projects. From the early nineties, Haydon brought his extensive background to the Real Estate industry, and has achieved notable success over the past sixteen years, including a successful period as an agency principal.
