John Knight - Ray White
Born and bred in Napier, John has an in-depth knowledge of not only the physical area, but also the people, fostered no doubt by the fact he is a ‘real’ people person.
A short stint in the banking industry in Napier after leaving high school, was followed by an introduction to real estate in Christchurch. Then on the road as a commission salesman, which led to building up a very successful mail-order company which kept John busy for 12 years.
1991 saw John enter the real estate industry in Napier, very successfully selling a large number of residential properties and in particular working with developers. In 2000 John completed and graduated with the National Certificate of Real Estate.
John and his wife Sharon have been married for 38 years. Their three children are all successful in their chosen careers – Glen and his wife Michelle and their three young children, have recently moved from Napier to Matawai to take up the position of Principal at Matawai School (70km inland from Gisborne). Richard, who is married to Hayley, has one little daughter, is settled in Christchurch and enjoys working as a mortgage broker. Daughter Chelsea married Tice race last January and is working in the banking industry.
John continues to be involved with his community interests – currently the President Of Asthma HB (for the past 30 years), chairman of the Footsteps Early Childhood Centre, and is currently President of the Asthma Foundation of NZ which is based in Wellington.
In his work, John continues to coach salespeople and is actively marketing and selling residential properties. Being a property investor, John understands this business and specializes in these types of properties.
