Derek has lived in the Franklin region for 30 years. During this time, he has operated successful businesses in Waiuku and Pukekohe. After selling these businesses he worked in the Auckland CBD for a large company as General Manager Marketing. Derek has exceptional marketing knowledge and well-honed negotiation skills from years of negotiation with New Zealand’s largest companies. He knows how to present and market a property, understands and communicates well with people, and skilled at closing a deal. In addition, he has a good working knowledge of local government and the changes to zoning around Franklin.

He lives on a 5.8ha Lifestyle block close to Pukekohe with his wife Wendy a registered nurse. All three of their girls attended Pukekohe High school. Having 3 daughters who have grown up and attended schools and clubs in Franklin has given Derek the chance to be involved in the local community. Our youngest daughter is still involved with Maramarua netball and competing in eventing in the area. Derek has been involved in local Pukekohe soccer and tennis and still has a social game when time permits.
