Rae Ocean stands at the forefront of a new era in real estate—young, enthusiastic, results-driven, and unwaveringly customer-focused.
In her fifth year as a salesperson with the award-winning team at Ray White Whangarei, this proven performer is celebrated for her exceptional work ethic, professionalism, knowledge, and integrity.
Born to a Kiwi father and Taiwanese mother, she spent formative years in Taiwan, mastering both English and Mandarin Chinese. A natural competitor driven to succeed, her early dedication to triathlon saw her competing internationally by the age of 13.
Moving to New Zealand as a teenager, Rae's love for the outdoors blossomed. At 17, she embarked on a 45-day solo journey through the South Island, featured on the cover of the Listener magazine. By 18, she guided on the Franz Josef Glacier before trekking 4,000 km on foot from Mexico to Canada on the Pacific Crest Trail in the United States.
Returning to New Zealand at 19, Rae based herself in the Abel Tasman National Park, working as a hiking and sea kayak guide. Presented with another opportunity, Rae’s father invited her to sail across the Pacific Ocean. Despite seasickness on the first night, her tenacity shone through. She quickly learned to sail, covering 5,000 nautical miles and navigating 15 islands to bring the boat home to New Zealand.
Raised in a household where property investments and renovations were routine, Rae frequently attended open homes and dedicated summers to painting and renovating the family rental properties. Recognising real estate as a natural calling at 20, she shifted her focus to the industry. With strong self-discipline and motivation, she purchased her first home and ventured into property management. She then progressed to sales with Ray White Whangarei, swiftly growing her business and gaining national media attention for the successful sales of her first listings on Stuff News and Sunday Star Times. Rae’s thriving business, built on recommendations and referrals, reflects her commitment to excellence
